The Solstice is on it's way... and if you are in the Northern Hemisphere like me, that means Summer Solstice! Summer Solstice is a time for celebrating the light, it is a turning point when the days hold more light and sunshine than dark of night. Traditionally Solstice celebrations included jumping over a fire, something that seems quite fitting in my hometown of Durango Colorado right now as we battle the 416 Fire... but this year I recommend something a bit more personal. Creating an altar to the light, a mandala honoring the sun, and meditating on the energy that helps all life grow and that will help us much our own dreams and lives forward. This is a good time to connect with community, a wonderful time to see what's happening at your local Farmer's Market and Yoga Studios.
